Scholarships that create opportunities for lasting change
With your support, we make it possible for kids living in poverty to learn and explore their passions.
Our scholarships in NZ connect kids to the funds and resources they need to pursue extra-curricular activities such as music or dance lessons, sports practice, coding classes and more. This also includes extra tutoring for academic learning. Meanwhile, our scholarships in Tonga will help kids attend secondary school by funding their school fees, transportation and additional resources.
These opportunities enable kids to become well-rounded individuals and we believe every kid deserves to experience the joy of learning something they love!
Where we work
Charity begins at home and we want to focus our work where we can create the most impact. At the moment, The Red Bow serves kids in Aotearoa New Zealand.
In New Zealand, 1 in 5 children (210,500) are affected by poverty[1]. While school is fully funded, most kids leave school without a proper education or the chance to explore their interests.
The Red Bow has a global aim, being Tonga the first developing country where help will be provided in the future.
In Tonga, 33% of children are living in poverty, compared to 23% of adults[2]. Quality schools are available but children of impoverished communities are often forced to forgo their education to work for their families. By missing school, much of Tonga’s children remain in poverty without opportunities for a better future.
The Red Bow wants to help transform the lives of kids in these areas with programmes that empower, inspire, and create real change.
