Education matters, now more than ever.

Education is a human right with immense power to transform lives.” - Kofi Annan

Today, millions children and youths are out of school because of poverty, gender discrimination, or lack of access to basic needs.

That’s one too many kids who are unable to count, read or write.

Education is a powerful tool for overcoming poverty. It gives children the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in society. A good education can lead to a world full of opportunities and empower kids to lift themselves out of hardship.

At The Red Bow, we believe that all types of learning should be encouraged in children. That’s why our work goes beyond help with formal education to include passions, hobbies and holistic development.

 The struggles of education in New Zealand

Despite significant government funding, and a wide choice of education providers, only 81% of school-aged children in New Zealand are enrolled in school. This means that almost a fifth are not. Why is this and what can we do more to support our tamariki?
